apt design is happy to announce our new membership with the american institute of graphic artists, aiga .

the purpose of aiga is “the place design professionals turn to first to exchange ideas and information, participate in critical analysis and research and advance education and ethical practice.”

the process of joining aiga involves, well, mostly just paying them money to be included. nevertheless, it is the premiere association for graphic designers and we are proud to be a part.

the aiga helps its members by “promoting and communicating standards for ethical conduct and professional expertise”. but it is not completely inwardly-focused, “its members now place a higher priority on AIGA’s work in communicating the value of design to audiences outside the profession.”
